Birthday Fun

Gianna has been invited to more birthday parties this year than my other two kids combined. The little girl next to her is her best friend at school. They are just so adorable together.

After making their bears, the kids got to choose one dress up item for the bears. All the little girls were choosing tiaras, frilly outfits, etc. But not my free spirited little one. She choose this little stuffed elephant. She adores stuffed animals so why not add to the bazillions of stuffed friends she has already? I think she likes this little guy more than the bear.

So cute...

Circus Day

This was my 4th Circus Day at Little Blessings. Seems so strange that it's now Gianna's turn. She had lots of fun today!

A Birthday Quiz

In honor of my sister Kerry's birthday, let's take a little quiz, shall we?

See if you can pick the correct, or should I say best, answer.

1.) Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do, they'll still be there. ~Amy Li

2.) Big sisters are the crab grass in the lawn of life. ~Charles M. Schulz

3.) If you don't understand how a woman could both love her sister dearly and want to wring her neck at the same time, then you were probably an only child. ~Linda Sunshine

4.) Sister to sister we will always be,
A couple of nuts off the family tree.
~Author Unknown

5.) Of two sisters one is always the watcher, one the dancer. ~Louise Gl├╝ck

6.) How do people make it through life without a sister? ~Sara Corpening

7.) To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time. ~Clara Ortega

8.) She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child. ~Barbara Alpert

I know...there are a few that are really good but I'm going with #8.

Love you Kerry!

Yesterday I left the room for a minute and Julia was looking for me. She was yelling, "MOM! Where are you MOM"! And Gianna says very casually from the kitchen table while coloring, "Mom ran away". Yes, at times I do feel like running away. So cute.

Antibiotics take 2

Julia once again is on antibiotics. She has fluid in her ears and is all congested. Her ears are so full she is having a hard time hearing what we say to her. It's become quite comical actually. I say something like, "Julia, can you let the cat out?" And she says, "What???" So I say again, loudly,"WILL YOU LET THE CAT OUT!" I'm talking to an old lady. Then she will yell something back that makes no sense like, "What?!?! Let the bat out???"

Happy New Year

Christmas was really fun this year. The kids are at THE perfect age! My family came over Christmas Eve day and we ate lots of yummy food. After everyone left, the kids made cookies for Santa and put out water and carrots for the reindeer. They sprinkled reindeer food around the yard before bedtime.

With Auntie Kimmy...
Christmas morning was so fun. They all got so many great presents that kept them busy all vacation.

Now for an update on Julia. She is back to herself for the most part and finally went back to school today after being out for 3 weeks! Her month-long fevers finally ended on Christmas Eve. Her doctor put her on a 10-day course of antibiotics for an ear infection. (For those of you who really know Julia, this was a complete and total nightmare as she despises medicine!) I still don't know why she had four separate bouts of fevers with stomach aches but I'm just glad they are gone! But now she is struggling with blocked ears. Great. Now I'm worried she's going deaf. Anyway, her favorite gifts are these dolls.

Gianna's favorite present hands down was this from Santa! After she opened it, she was pretty much done with her presents. This was the only present she asked for and talked about it for weeks on end. She has tons of stuffed "friends" and has names for all of them. That is a post for another day.

Nicholas loves this. He would sit there for hours if we let him. We've already had a few meltdowns when we've told him to turn it off.

We spent NYE across the street at Patty and Fran's house as usual. We got pizza for the kids and the grown-ups ate Beef Wellington. Yummmm. We didn't quite make it until midnight because the kids wanted to go home and go to bed. I don't really get what the big deal is anyway so that was fine with me!

I'm hoping for another uneventful year!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
