Happy Halloween!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Years ago, before I got married, I lived in a haunted apartment. I'm not kidding you. Haunted. Strange things used to happen up there on the 3rd floor. One night, shortly after moving in, I woke up in the middle of the night with an ugly, old woman crawling towards me on my bed. I will never forget the way she looked. There were many, many nights I would wake in the middle of the night with white swirling objects just inches from my face. I would frantically try to swat them away.

Then there was the crazy night when I awoke in the middle of the night to find the kitchen light in my apartment was out. You see, after all the crazy stuff happening, I used to leave the kitchen light on. But on this night the light was off. So I got up out of bed to turn it back on, and when I reached for the handle of my bedroom door...the door slammed shut! Of course I freaked! Mind you there were NO windows open so therefore no explanation for this to happen, right? I finally got the guts to open the door and turn my kitchen light back on. Needless to say, that was yet another sleepless night.

Then there was the day when a family recipe went up in flames in the kitchen. My aunt had this great recipe for a Swedish braid bread and my mom had a copy of the recipe. After much convincing, my mom gave me the only copy she had. I promised that "nothing was going to happen to it" and "Mom, I promise to give it right back". (To Mom, and for those of you who know my Mom, you know what I'm talking about.) Anyway, I'm in the kitchen just doing my thing with some candles lit on my kitchen table. The recipe was laying on the table no where near the candles. I hear a crackling sound...and then again. I turn around and there is the recipe floating in the flames completely engulfed! I think the ghosts heard me talking to my Mom and decided to play a little joke on me. Not a funny one.

So why did I stay there? It was cheap...my Mom was the landlord...and I used to make Danny stay with me most of the time (for protection of course!).

My Mom lives on the first floor of that house now and she has a few creepy stories as well that literally would make the hair on your arms stand up!

Boo to you! Happy Halloween!!!

Disney World final post

The day we went to the Magic Kingdom it was just crazy crowded!  I thought the crowds weren't supposed to be that big in October?  This picture was taken very early before the place was flooded with people!!

(Just a little flashback to when we were there five years ago...)

Each day I would let the kids pick a treat they wanted in the parks.  This is what they picked at the kingdom and it was as good as it looked!!

Julia was begging for a corn dog.  She's never had one before and just wanted to try it.  So we got her one and we all shared.  She said she liked it but I'm not so sure...

The castle just amazes me.  I think it's so beautiful!  I can picture myself living in there.  That could be my bedroom window way up there at the top...

We staked out a great place, very early, to watch the parade and fireworks...

I love this picture....

But by the time the parade started, we were boxed in like sardines.

Oh well.  Regardless of the crowds, we made the best of it and really enjoyed the beautiful electrical parade...

Just one incident that day...one of my kids stepped on my toe and broke it. And that was Tuesday.  I had to hobble around the rest of the week with a broken toe.  Ouch!

I didn't take that many pictures of our day at Hollywood Studios but this was one of our favorite rides there for sure...the Tower of Terror...

The last two days we spent at Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure.  I think they were the highlight of our week.  My brother works for Universal and was able to get us free passes!  How awesome was that!?!?  The Harry Potter ride was nothing short of spectacular...

I was in awe of these buildings and store fronts...

Danny's favorite ride was Jurassic Park....

Islands of Adventure not only has some of THE best rides around, but it's also very unique and beautiful at the same time...

Nicholas and Julia absolutely LOVED this roller coaster, The Hulk.  I went on it with them the first time...after which I got a tremendous headache and told them I couldn't go on it again.  So they went on a whole bunch more times without me.  Gianna wasn't tall enough but I know she would have loved it...

More time spent at our pool with their cousins....

and one last picture of all the cousins together before Tyler went off to train to be a Marine...

Our last day was spent at Universal and then we headed back over to IOA to go on our favorite rides one more time...

See how pretty it is?

I loved the Butterbeer!  It was super sweet...just how I like it!  Look at how cute my Gianna Mae is...

Our last day ended at 9:30 that night and I could barely walk.  I thought my feet were going to fall off.  But it was so worth it!!

Danny and the kids are on this ride.  Can you see Danny and Julia getting soaked???

The kids playing a zombie game they made up...

The Hulk...

Disney World Part 3 Typhoon Lagoon

Day two of our trip was spent at Typhoon Lagoon.  How could you not have fun when surrounded by the most gorgeous weather and the best wave pool and water slides around?  Danny and I ventured down each and every water slide with the kids.  The Crush n' Gusher was the best!!  It's a water roller coaster raft ride.  The best was when me, Danny and one of the kids would ride on a triple raft.  We would just fly down the slide!  It was a total blast!!

The surf pool was so much fun too...and castaway creek where you just float around the park in a tube...it was just the best day.

And they had really yummy soft serve ice cream too...

Yes, another great day!

To be continued...
