The birthday girl wanted to start her day with breakfast at IHOP...

Then she went for a manicure and pedicure...

Then her cute friends (Gianna, Alyssa, Livvy and Kailey) stopped by to surprise her with some birthday whoopie pies. They came in disguise...

For dinner we celebrated at Hibachi...Julia's favorite restaurant...(I have no clue who that lady is by the way)..

(Nor do I have a clue who that guy is.)

And then we came back home for presents...

and cake...

The frosting looked so pretty...but tasted...not so good...oh well.  Luckily we had ice cream too.  : )

Near the end of summering

Lots of fun things happening around here.  Went on the "Buzz Bus" with my awesome neighbors into Boston for the REO Speedwagon and Chicago concert. It was so much fun!!

No...we didn't dance on the pole...

Julia trying out some new dance moves she learned at dance camp.  She always looks so pretty...

We went to Nantasket Beach to visit Marcy.  Times are changing.  We've been going to her parents house each summer for over 20 years.  I remember the days when my friends had the babies, toddlers and kids at the beach before Danny and I had kids. Now my friends are childless (their kids have either graduated from college, are away at college or in high school and just didn't want to go) and now we are the ones with the young kids...

But my friend Amy from high school has kids the same age...and Nicholas brought his friend Tyler too...so there were other kids to hang out with...

We had a family birthday party to celebrate our August birthdays...

Auntie Kerry made this gorgeous birthday card for Julia...

Back to school sneaker shopping...

I'm trying to enjoy the last of these lazy warm summer mornings on my porch...
