Volunteer work

While I was at the Titanic Exhibit, Danny went up to Endicott for the day to volunteer for a dance team fundraiser...

Titanic Exhibit

I went to Boston yesterday with my sisters to see the Titanic Exhibit. It was amazing! I'm so fascinated with the story and the history of the Titanic.

I wasn't expecting to see something like this at all. It was amazing!!

I found the story of these dishes fascinating...

And here is the picture of how they were found on the ocean floor...

Menus for first, second and third class. Like really???

When you enter the exhibit, they give you a boarding pass with a name and description of the person...

She was 27 and traveling back to MA to be with her sister, who was about to give birth. She was traveling alone and went 2nd class. Glad she survived!

Lunch with sisters after...

Such a fun day! (Except for the parking garage fiasco and the ridiculously loud and disruptive hotel workers protest.)

Happy Birthday Sandy

Today would have been Sandy's 59th birthday. She passed suddenly at just 54 years old. I miss her so much. It's hard to lose that friend who really knew you so well. We've been friends since the 8th grade. That's a long time.

We celebrate Sandy every year on her birthday. I'm meeting her two sisters and two of her other close friends tonight for dinner at one of her favorite restaurants.

I found this picture with my Mom's things when cleaning out her bedroom drawers. She loved Sandy and our friendship. She especially loved her haircut in this picture! Haha! I think that's why she kept it! So I had a little laugh when I found it. I love our friendship so much.

I can't believe we were 30 in this picture! We look so young!!

October and a loss of a loved one

"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."

Fall is my favorite season. Just look at all that picturesque beauty that surrounded us while sitting on my childhood porch with my sister, Paula and Danny. We were reminiscing about a beautiful life cut short.

Donna, Paula's twin sister, passed away on Saturday. Truly heartbreaking. She was such a love and so incredibly witty and funny. My heart hurts for her loved ones. But I know the veil is thin and she will always be around them. On such a glorious October day, you just think, how can that be...

We will miss you, Donna

Weekend in Louisville

We went to visit The Boy last weekend for the parents hockey weekend. I love seeing him in his element with his friends, girlfriend and at the hockey rink. Unfortunately, he didn't get to play at either game while we were there though. Bummer.

The kids had a welcome party for the parents at one of the houses in The Retreat where Nicholas lives.

We went to dinner with Haley that night and then over to the rink to watch game one. Sadly this was the one and only picture I got of him that weekend. Haha!

Saturday we went to the football game and that was a lot of fun. I've never been to a D1 college football game before and it did not disappoint! I loved watching the marching band, dance team and cheerleaders. I'm not that into football but it was a really good game.

He played in this Saturday's game and they won! I had to watch that one remotely though. : (

Missing The Boy so much but I know he's right where he needs to be.
