SHU dance show

Gianna had her first (and quite possibly last) dance ensemble show last night. She felt it was way too easy and just not satisfying enough from what she was used to at NEDA. She took two classes that were run by student choreographers. The first dance, Sleep on the Floor, featured Gianna. All the girls started sitting on the floor and then Gianna comes on with a solo part. Let me tell you she really owned it! I was so proud of her! Then the dance ended with just her on the stage! She looked so confident and gorgeous!

The second dance, Golden Hour, was the better of the two in my opinion. Again she looked so beautiful on that stage! You could see her dance training. She was a stand out. I do wish I had taken a few pictures but I really wanted to enjoy it and be in the moment. I was beaming with pride!! Danny thought she was amazing as well : )

This is a video of Golden Hour from dress rehearsal. I love the song so much. I think she tried harder and was more expressive in the show last night. I'm hoping there will be a video from last night's show but I'm not sure there will be. I'm also trying to get the video for the other dance as well from dress rehearsal at least.

Dreams Do Come True

I'm so incredibly proud of my sister! As long as I can remember, she has talked about writing a book. She's always been a lover of books and reading. She's finally made that dream come true!  Of course she has I say. Because she is someone who has dreams and ideas and always makes them happen!

Last night was her graduation from her year long Incubator Program. The ten people in the group each read an excerpt from their books. It was very entertaining. I can't wait to read my sister's book! Someday soon I hope!

Weekending

I had quite the busy weekend. Friday night was a birthday party for a woman in my neighborhood and we celebrated at Debevino's...

Saturday was Julia's last football game of the season. It's always bittersweet because they celebrate the seniors. She's really going to miss Kendall...

We tailgated before and after the game. It was quite chilly when that sun went down...

Yesterday was Bridget's bridal shower...but I didn't take any pictures.

Nicholas had two games and they got to wear these great shirts for Veteran's Day...

The weather is getting chilly and the clocks have turned back. I'm trying to get used to the early darkness. Thinking about putting up the Christmas decorations and tree this weekend! I think it'll get us in the holiday spirt. Nothing like having all those soft glowing lights around the house to make it feel extra cozy.

Blastoff

Wednesday was Blastoff at Endicott. It's one of Julia's favorite events to dance at!  The dance team was simply ahhh-mazing!! This was the best one so far!!

Her Light

When I first "lost" my Mom, I couldn't feel her. I wasn't getting any signs from her like I did from my Dad. That left me sad and a little frightened. But as time went on, I slowly started getting signs from her. And now I know when she is close by because I've found the way she communicates with me...through music, numbers and a few other ways.

I read this the other day from my favorite, Donna Ashworth, and it really resonated with me. I know my Mom never left me...it just took a while to find each other again.

THEIR LIGHT WILL FIND YOU

We are all full of light.
Light that no-one can actually see,
but we feel it.
We go through life radiating this light,
and shining it on those we love.
And when someone we love leaves, it’s true,
our world really does fall dark.
Because that light source we couldn’t see,
but we felt,
has gone.
And it takes a while,
it takes time for them to settle somewhere else.
But I promise you, that light, it shines on us again.
From somewhere very different.
And we can’t see it but oh, we feel it.
Hold on through that dark period my love,
their light will find you.
And when it does,
it will never go dark again.

Florida Wedding

We had a quick getaway to St. Petersburg for my friend's daughter's wedding. The weather was so perfect! Such a fun weekend away with Danny and friends!

First up...lunch and drinks by the ocean...

Then a dinner gathering at the hotel with the wedding party and guests...

Afterwards, we took a walk down the street to a local bar to listen to music and have a few drinks...

In the morning, Danny and I stumbled upon an open market so we all did a little browsing and shopping...

Then it was back to the hotel pool for some pregaming drinks and snacks before the wedding that evening...

The wedding was held at the Sunken Gardens which was the most beautiful wedding venue I've ever attended. This is the area where they were wed. Just look at all those flowers in bloom! The weather could not have been more perfect...

Then we moved to another garden area for drinks before the reception started...

Then we moved to the reception tent which was again so stunning with all the pretty lights...

We all had so much fun and lots of laughs...

Sunday morning, Danny and I got a quick walk in to soak up the gorgeous weather. We had breakfast with the wedding party and friends and then it was off to the airport.

I would love to spend more time in St. Petersburg. Such a beautiful fun place!! But if you know me...I'm so happy to be home!
