Mom

My Mom had a stroke on Sunday.  Thankfully it didn't have any affect on her body...just her speech for now.  She was very lucky and should have a good recovery.  She is in the best hands possible. It's just so scary and sad. The elderly have quite the difficult time processing medication.  I saw this same thing with my Dad.

My Mom is strong with a wonderful spirit...and she is so loved.

Victory Burrillville Winter Classic

They won the tournament!  Another "WHAT A GAME" last night!!  Top two teams played last night, North vs. Burrillville.  Burrillville scored in the first period.  It was a weak shot too and it slipped under Nicholas' arm.  We all thought he had it including him.  Just a fluke.  It stayed 1-0 until the end of the 3rd period when we tied it up.  Then it went to a 7-minute overtime with 3 on 3 and we got a fabulous winning goal!  What a game!!  My girls have become big hockey fans this season watching their big brother in net!  Nicholas is having an amazing season and it is so well deserved!

Winning goal in overtime...

Tournament Weekend

North is at Burrillville all weekend for a tournament.  Game One Success over Moses Brown thanks to our boy in net!  He had 23 saves total and all of them were unbelievable!  Top two games for him this season so far...Bishop Feehan and this one vs. Moses Brown.  Can't wait for more!

Our Christmas

We started our Christmas Eve by going next door for an open house and then the five of us went to Church.  I love the Christmas Eve Mass. Then we went back home to make Christmas cookies.  This year I made the dough instead of the Pillsbury dough we usually use.  Julia was my assistant...

I had left the dough in the fridge over night and it was hard as a rock!  So funny watching her try to roll it out.  She got quite the work out...

And it got stuck to the rolling pin...

Gianna is such the teenager at 14. This is her "I'd rather be in my room on my phone" look...but she loosened up and was a lot of fun as the night went on...

Nicholas is into making steaks for himself...

The kids did a good job buying each other their traditional Christmas Eve gifts to each other...

Gianna made a scrap book filled with pictures and hand written notes for Julia. I thought it was very thoughtful and sweet...

Santa arrived and put lots of presents under the tree for all of us...

This was the first year we had to wake the kids up!  Teenagers love their sleep!  But they were happy to get up and open their gifts...

KoKo always joins us too.  He finds the first empty box to sit in and watch...

Nicholas loves his AirPod pros...

Julia and Gianna have been having so much fun playing this Toy Story 3 game on the XBox...

Nicholas got so many stains on his old Champion white hoodie that I surprised him with a brand new one...he was so happy...but has proceeded to already get peppermint stick ice cream on it...but no worries...it came out in the wash...

Julia loves her snuggy...

Nicholas loves all the gifts for his gaming computer...

We got Julia the most gorgeous mirror for her room...

Love this...

And we surprised Gianna with a new phone.  Lucky for her because she just dropped her old one and shattered the screen...

Julia's big present was an Apple Watch...she loves it!

She also got a weighted blanket. I got one for myself too!  I think we're both going to love them...

After opening presents we had our traditional Christmas breakfast of homemade French Texas Toast with powdered sugar, thick slices of bacon and maple sausages.  It was delicious!  We look forward to it every year.

My family came over in the afternoon for gifts...

and a yummy Italian feast...with a big spread of desserts too like Danny's homemade biscotti and fudge, Christmas cookies, and apple pie with vanilla ice cream.  So good!

We split up everyone on two teams and made a TikTok video.  Julia and Gianna were the captains since they are the TikTok experts.  It was so funny!  This was our video...

The best memory I'm taking with me from this year was snuggling on the couch late Christmas Eve watching the Polar Express all together.  I had Julia on my left and Nicholas on my right.  Just the best feeling in the world. Nothing better. I love that the kids still want to watch the movie together.  Just so sweet.

And the perfect Hobby Lobby find...
