My childhood

Literally these pictures are of my childhood. I loved going through all these pictures and reminiscing!  Brings back so many memories!

Forenza sweaters!!  I loved these!!

All the preppy girls carried these...

I clearly remember my mom and dad bringing home this cereal from their weekly Friday night grocery shop and thinking they had lost their minds!  Cookies for breakfast?

I wore these every single day when I was a little girl...

I loved the Sunday paper...I read the comics and did this with my silly putty...

and I couldn't wait to cut out the paper dolls!!!  Can you believe that I actually still have some from my childhood?  I do!!

I would walk to the library in the summer heat just to get Nancy Drew books.  I loved them!! Now I play the computer games by Her Interactive with my girls.  So fun!!

I clearly remember this...either we had this at my house or one of my best friends did. The blue part was a chalk board...

Perfection was my favorite game when I was about 9 or 10.  I could beat anyone's time!  I bought this game for my kids because I loved it so much and I think I'm the only one that every plays it.  They'll all too scared the pieces are going to pop up...

My other favorite childhood game was Master Mind.  This was the original box too.  We have this game today too and I'm so bad at it now!  I really think it's for young minds...

I loved going to Rolland when I was in junior high...it was especially fun when they'd announce "couples only" and a cute boy would ask you to skate...

I had these ugly jean skirts that were soooo uncomfortable you couldn't even move in them.  But hey,  I looked good!!

I hated when this happened to my VCR tapes...so glad technology has improved!

Yup...this was way before texting. Something our kids have no clue about.  I loved getting these notes first thing in the morning at school.  I would read them in class and just die laughing...

Oh YUM!!!  I loved Bubble Yum!!

Something our kids would not understand at all.  Developing pictures and having to leave the house to get them...

I died laughing when I saw this one.  We used to say "gag me with a spoon" ALL the time my junior year in high school.  I forgot all about it!  I had an old boyfriend that would still say it long after it wasn't the think to say anymore and it bothered me so much!  I'm pretty sure that was the reason I broke up with him.
Ugh...those dreaded long standardized tests we had to take in school.  I would always mess it up by being off by one number...

And my favorite sneakers...so ugly!!

I LOVED banana clips!!  I forgot all about them until I saw this picture of them. I loved how it made my hair look...

This cracks me up...I'm sure my kids have no clue as to what the true meaning of "roll the window down" is...

I loved stirrup pants!  I don't know why these aren't still around because they made your legs look super long!

Yup...kids wouldn't have a clue as to what the heck this thing is...

Classic...

Do they still have these?  I had a Raggedy Ann one that I loved!

This cracked me up too!  I still think we need to save paper bags from the store in case they need to cover books.  They would think I was a weirdo if I ever suggested this...

I hated encyclopedias.  Crazy to think this is how we looked things up.  I don't know what my life would be like without google...

I remember this sticky lip gloss very well.  But I wasn't kissing anyone back then...

I loved to see who had the library books before me...

The classic TV we all had in our homes growing up...and you've got to love that paneling!!  Everyone's house looked like this back in the day.  So gross!!

Just looking at this map reminds me so much of elementary school...

I had a bunch of these dresses when I was in kindergarten and first grade. I used to name them...I had one I called my baker's dress...

I had this on my bike with training wheels...but I'm sure it was too cool to have on my monkey bike...

My absolute favorite game to play during recess...kick ball!  And I was good at it if I say so myself...

It's so weird that the little girl on the right looks a lot like me when I was that age...maybe it is me??

Still one of my favorite shows. I watch it now on Netflix. I love a good mystery...

Cats cradle...

I never understood how this thing worked.  You would plug it in and it would vibrate like crazy. The pieces would move and fall all over the place...

Yup...I used this everyday in middle school...

Oh and this brought tears to my eyes.  My Dad always had certs on him.  When I was a little girl I would run to greet him at the door when he got home for work.  He'd pick me up and carry me around for a bit.  Then I would ask for these. He always had them in his pockets. It became a long standing joke between us...

Crazy how we would have to look up our TV shows in the TV Guide to see when it would be on and what episode it was.  Life is so much easier and convenient these days.

We used to call these "old lady" shoes! We all wore them in high school.  I even have a picture of me and all my friends standing in a circle with our feet in the middle showing them off.  How on earth did we think these looked good???

I had this doll and I loved her!!

Yup!  The fire stix were my favorite!

I don't know if my kids could survive any of this.  Phone books? Maps? No air conditioning in cars?  Actually having to get up to change the channel?  What a nightmare!

And this!!!  I LOVED my Barbie camper!!  I played with this endlessly!!!  And that plastic smell was the best...

I remember that plastic tent part ripped almost right away.  I just took it off and played with the rest of it.  The back window would pull down into a table.  Awwww....

And my brother had this toy...Evil Knievel!  We played with this for hours.  It worked really well!

And he had this too.  So fun!

Such awesome childhood memories!!!
