Edaville Railroad

We took the kids to Edaville Railroad on Friday to ride on Thomas the Train. They had a blast...especially Gianna. Her eyes were as big as saucers on the train. (Although in the picture below it's her mouth that is big.) It was a good day!

Summer in full swing

I have to say Day Two of summer and so far so good! Yesterday we just spent the day hanging on the porch, in the yard and in the two pools. Today I took them to a pond that is just 2 miles from our house. It is really clean and has a nice sandy beach. The water was perfect today. They had so much fun playing in the sand and "swimming". I get nervous having to watch all three of them in the water but Gianna never left my side all day which was good. I'm glad I rediscovered this gem of a place. I'm sure we will be spending many days there this summer.

My two are all done with school as of today. Nicholas is officially all done with Little Blessings. It has been a very emotional day today. I handpicked that school for him and now two years have come and gone already. As I was watching him tonight I was thinking...wasn't it just yesterday that he was born? Wasn't it just the other day when we were struggling to have a baby? Time goes by way too fast. I think the only thing holding it together for me tonight was knowing that we'll be back next year for Julia to attend kindergarten. Then it will be Gianna's turn to start preschool the following year. I hate endings but I'm trying to think about new beginnings. Like it is officially summer vacation! That's a happy thought!

I tried to get a "two year old" picture of Gianna today. It is so hard to get her to smile for the camera. She poses for seconds at a time and then she's off. This is why I don't bother with the photo studios.

Gettin' ready

Julia is getting ready for her very first dance recital this weekend. Today was picture day at the studio. I'm sad that Kerry has closed her studio. It was home to me for so many years and I so wanted her to teach Julia. It seems strange to be at this new studio where I don't know anyone. I'm really looking forward to the recital to see what it's all about.

Nicholas saw me taking pictures of Julia this morning and ran up to his room to put his uniform on. He walked out of the house to where we were with this look on his face like..."OK. I'll get in the pictures too". It was very cute. His game was later in the day and boy was it HOT. My Dad went to the game and the poor guy was just melting in the sun. We didn't stay long.

Our pool is finally open and the kids went swimming today! Just in time for this hot weather.
